Jason Blaid was considered by just about everybody at school to be the ultimate wimp. He was a short, skinny boy, pale and scrawny. He had pale blue eyes which were partially obscured by his wire-rimmed glasses, which were much too large for his face. He was not built for much physical activity and, therefore, didn't participate in any sports. But he was pretty smart. He had one of the highest reading levels at his school and a much broader vocabulary than his whole English class combined. For this, and his shy and reserved nature, he was teased and bullied constantly.

If I were given the same choice that had changed my life for good... I'd have to turn it down. I've grown too used to my new life to consider taking it back. The people who once made my life hell have paid their price and the benefits of my new life outweigh my old life.

Awoooooooooooooo-ahoooooooo! The low, mournful wail of a wolf howling in the distance of the mountains floated on the chilly midnight breeze, enchanting all who listened. The lonely wolfs serenade was soon joined by several other howls from his waiting pack, making the eerie choir rise and travel for miles. The full moon shone high in the sky, looking in all the world like a giant white egg perched there with elegant grace amongst the many stars.
